Unknown Magazine is an independent Arts & Culture publication based in the city of York. Founded in 2013, the magazine is run by young creatives and students working to highlight artistic talent, particularly in the North East of England. Unknown is a multimedia publication, consisting of a website with regular articles, an annual print edition, an active social media and launch events, which are used to facilitate creative collaboration and to promote the arts. We are interested in using our platform to highlight up-and-coming artists, allowing the previously unknown to enter into the known. In weaving together a variety of artistic forms the Unknown is a unique multi-media art piece in itself, at once unified and varied as the perspectives it contains.

Unknown is the product of its hard-working team: a group of creative, passionate, innovative students who are dedicated to celebrating the arts. Read about the team below, complete with contact information if you are interested in getting involved.
